Alumni Spotlight - Allyson Skeens, '03 (11/1/2005)
Allyson Skeens
Allyson Skeens
Allyson Skeens is a 2003 graduate of Ball State University with a degree in Sport Administration and is currently working on her master's degree in Sport Management at the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

While a student at Ball State, Allyson re-established the Women's Lacrosse Club and also played on the men's club the fall after she graduated.  She was also secretary of the Fencing Club her sophomore year and was a member of the Sport Administration Club.

Upon graduation from BSU, Allyson became a substitute teacher in the Indianapolis Public School System in order to have a flexible schedule to coach the girls' lacrosse team at Brebeuf Jesuit High School in Indianapolis.  In January of 2004 she began working as an unlicensed assistant at Century 21 Realty Group in Indianapolis and received her license in May 2004.  After moving back to Connecticut in November, she began selling real estate at Century 21-Today in West Haven.  Allyson plans to complete her master's degree in May 2006 and has recently accepted the head coaching position of the Men's Lacrosse Club at the University of New Haven.  She is currently working with administration to bring the club back to varsity status as it was prior to 2002.  Allyson is also a proud member of the Walter Camp Football Foundation, a group that carries on the tradition of Walter Camp, the father of American football.

Allyson hasn't had the opportunity to return to Ball State since October 2004.  However, she did attend the alumni events when Ball State traveled to Boston College in early October of this year.  Allyson reminisces about BSU by saying "Ball State was the best three years of my life.  The people and experiences in Muncie have helped shape who I am and have helped me become successful.  I wish I could get back more."
