Denny Nuckols graduated from Ball State University in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and in 1967 with a master’s degree in student personnel administration in higher education. FULL STORY

Ball State Alumni Coach of the Year Award Winners Announced
The Alumni Association has announced five high school Coach of the Year awards for the winter 2005-06 season. The award is presented to Indiana high school head coaches in all IHSAA-recognized sports. Teacher Fair and Career Listings
The Career Alumni Network, a networking service for those in need of career direction, is available online. Teacher Fair is scheduled for May 3-4, 2006 at Worthen Arena. This program offers education majors an opportunity to collect information from school corporations, distribute résumés, and possibly interview. Cardinal ViewJobs lists thousands of employment opportunities, including full-time professional jobs for experienced alumni. Indiana Jobs Central, a resource available through the Career Center, is provided by leading employers as a public service for all employers and all job seekers. FULL STORY

Ball State professor wins lifetime achievement award
Lawrence Gerstein, professor of counseling psychology at Ball State, will receive the 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award from the College of Education at the University of Georgia May 5. FULL STORY

Patrick Wilkes-Krier wins medalist honors with final-round 65; Ball State wins team title at Firestone
Senior Patrick Wilkes-Krier set a First Energy Intercollegiate record with a 15-under total of 201 to win medalist honors, while the Cardinals fired a final-round 285 to win the team title. With a 284 team score in round one and 285 in rounds two and three, the Cardinals were the only team to finish under par at the event. The three-round score of 854 missed the all-time tournament record by just six strokes. FULL STORY

Katie Sundberg finishes sixth; women's golf third at MAC championship
Senior Katie Sundberg followed a Ball State and career-low round of 71 on Saturday with a final-round 76 Sunday to finish tied for sixth overall as the Ball State women's golf team completed its 2006 season with a third place showing at the Mid-American Conference Tournament. The 72-hole tournament marked Ball State's first top three finish in league play, while four Cardinals finished in the top 20. Junior Kallie Harrison was named to the All-MAC Second Team. FULL STORY

White team scores 28-23 win in football's spring scrimmage
The White Team scored a 28-23 victory in the Ball State football team's annual Cardinal and White Spring Scrimmage at Scheumann Stadium. "This was by far the best spring we have had since my staff has been here," head coach Brady Hoke says. "One of the big keys for us was the winter development. This spring we were able to find some playmakers, and maybe found more than we thought we had. Overall this spring, we addressed our priorities and were really pleased." FULL STORY

Scully leads track at Hillsdale relays
The Ball State outdoor track and field team began competition Friday at the 2006 Gina Relays conducted in Hillsdale, Mich. The three-day event comprises of top-competition from the Midwest, including seven Mid-American Conference schools, besides Ball State. FULL STORY
