Alumni Spotlight - Chris LaMothe, '78
Delaware County’s Sherry Laboratories will remain in its home, thanks to six Ball State alumni and friends. Chris LaMothe, '78, and a team of investors purchased Sherry Laboratories from Muncie-based Ontario Corporation. FULL STORY

Ball State Alumni Association Award Winners Announced
The Ball State Alumni Association has announced recipients for the 2006 Distinguished Alumni Awards, Benny Awards, and Graduate of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D.) Awards. The recipients will be honored during the Homecoming Awards Dinner in October. FULL STORY

Job Fairs and Career Listings
The Career Alumni Network, a networking service for those in need of career direction, is available online. Fall Career Fair is scheduled for September 13, 2006 at Worthen Arena. Employers and graduate school representatives will be on campus to discuss employment, internships, and graduate programs with Ball State students. Cardinal ViewJobs lists thousands of employment opportunities, including full-time professional jobs for experienced alumni. Indiana Jobs Central, a resource available through the Career Center, is provided by leading employers as a public service for all employers and all job seekers. FULL STORY

2006 Ball State football season preview
Year three of the Brady Hoke era at Ball State University ended with the Cardinals winning three of their final four games and being the only Mid-American Conference school to defeat both the MAC West Division and MAC East Division Champions. Sullivan drafted in 31st round by Detroit
Ball State center fielder Mike Sullivan (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) was selected Wednesday by the Detroit Tigers in the 31st round of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft. Sullivan, the 922nd overall selection, is the third Ball State player to be selected in the 2006 draft. FULL STORY

Men’s tennis players find success in summer competition
Ball State senior men's tennis player Joe Epkey (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove H.S.) recently captured the singles title at the Five Seasons Indiana State Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. With the win, Epkey earns a wildcard into the qualifying round of the RCA Tennis Championships, which are set to begin July 15 in Indianapolis. Epkey defeated fellow teammate Aaron Phillips (Effingham, Ill./Saint Anthony H.S.) 6-4, 6-3 in the championship match of the Five Seasons event. FULL STORY

Women's basketball continues work with Habitat
For the second straight year, members of the Ball State women's basketball team have volunteered their time and effort to Muncie's chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The players recently spent a day helping in the construction of a house for a needy family in Muncie. Habitat for Humanity is one of a number of community service activities the BSU women's basketball team participates in. FULL STORY

Abby Richter joins women’s soccer staff
Head women's soccer coach Michelle Salmon has announced the addition of Abby Richter to the Ball State program. Richter's duties as assistant coach will begin immediately. "We are extremely excited to have Abby join our staff," said Salmon. "She brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to our program." FULL STORY
