Alumni Spotlight - Brenda Cox, '84Brenda Cox earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism from Ball State University in 1984. Upon graduation she was employed as a Co-op Advertising Manager at Blair Broadcasting and then moved on to become Production Director at Crane Productions Print Advertising. After leaving Crane Productions she was employed by Macmillan Publishing as a Sales Supervisor and Technical Support Manager. For the past 10 years, Brenda has been Manager of Product Technical Support with John Wiley & Sons Publishing whose famous brands include Webster's New World Dictionaries, Cliffs Notes, and Betty Crocker Cookbooks, among others. Amanda McCormick Named MAC Defensive Player of the YearMUNCIE, Ind. - - Ball State women's volleyball senior libero Amanda McCormick (Muncie Ind./Muncie Burris H.S.) has been named the 2006 Mid-American Conference Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year as voted on by the league's 12 head coaches. McCormick is the first-ever winner of the league's top defensive honor.
"Amanda set a defensive standard that has never been seen before," said BSU head coach Randy Litchfield.

Men's Basketball Closes Tough Stretch With 69-54 Setback At GeorgetownWASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Ball State men's basketball team closed a tough stretch of five games in eight days with a 69-54 setback Monday night at Georgetown.
The Cardinals, who have traveled to Las Vegas and Washington, D.C. in the last eight days, drop to 2-4 on the season. Georgetown, who entered the game ranked in the top 20, improved to 4-1.
"We just went through a tough stretch," says first-year BSU head coach Ronny Thompson. "But, we still played hard and the guys gave great effort. I am proud of our guys."
