Alumni Spotlight - Ben Coyle, '99Ben Coyle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 with a double major in history and religious studies. Since graduating from Ball State, Ben has held several jobs, but enjoyed teaching behavior disorder students and returned to school to complete a master’s degree in education. He is currently a special education teacher at Hubbard High School in Chicago, Illinois. Job Fairs and Career ListingsThe Career Alumni Network, a networking service for those in need of career direction, is available online. Fall Career Fair is scheduled for September 13, 2006 at Worthen Arena. Employers and graduate school representatives will be on campus to discuss employment, internships, and graduate programs with Ball State students. Cardinal ViewJobs lists thousands of employment opportunities, including full-time professional jobs for experienced alumni. Football to have five games televised this season; Purdue game on ESPN 360Ball State University's football program will have five games televised in the 2006 season. Four of the games will be televised on Comcast Local, while the Tues., Nov. 14, game at Toledo will be live on ESPN2. In addition, the Cardinals game at Purdue will be available on the internet via ESPN 360. ESPN 360 is ESPN's customized broadband service and is available free of charge if your internet provider has partnered with ESPN. FULL STORY
Five BSU women's golfers named All-America scholarsFive members of the Ball State women's golf team have been named a 2006 National Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar, according to the NGCA. Seniors Carmen Bodine and Katie Sundberg and juniors Kallie Harrison, Holly Jones and Amber Uphaus each received the honor. It was the second straight year to earn the award for Bodine, Jones, Sundberg and Uphaus and also the second straight year the Cardinals have had five selected to the team.

Dave Land announces retirementDave Land, who has worked at Ball State University for the last 21 years, has announced his retirement from the university effective Aug. 31. "Ball State is an outstanding institution and I greatly appreciate everything the people have done for me in this community," Land says. "As an alum of the university, it has been a pleasure working here and spending my career in East Central Indiana. Ball State and high school athletics have been a large part of my life, but I am looking forward to moving on to the next stage and continuing with some additional projects." FULL STORY | |
