Alumni Association/Alumni Council Update

The last Alumni Council meeting was held on September 9, 2006.

The new McKinley Avenue Gateway was dedicated Homecoming Day, Saturday, October 21.

Work is continuing on the new Communication and Media Building and our new residence hall, Park Hall, both scheduled to open in fall 2007. The Board of Trustees named Park Hall after Don Park, vice president emeritus for university advancement, and the five generations of the Park family who have attended Ball State. The trustees also have approved investments in another new residence hall and the renovation of the student center.   North Hall will house 600 students and will be constructed north of the Studebaker Complex.

The construction of the new Scheumann Stadium will include a Press Box that will have suites and also a children's area.

The new University marketing campaign has the tagline, "Education Redefined."  President Gora will be making a national tour to various regional areas in an effort to promote Ball State University and also engage alumni involvement with the university.

The next Council meeting will be Saturday, January 13, 2007.

Other Business
