OLD BUSINESS
Communique Newsletter—Marla reported that stories are being compiled for the next issue.

Career Mentoring Day Overview—Overall the event was again a big success, with several excellent alumni presenters. However, student attendance was down from 2004. Discussion regarding possible factors for the decrease and ideas for the future included scheduling the event two years ahead; changing the day of the week to one of two when most of the students have their FCS classes; starting 10-15 minutes after the hour to facilitate shuttle bus transportation; emphasizing more publicity to the students within classes; utilizing on-line student registration, which Sue Taylor will arrange; and keeping a record of speaker contacts (this is already done in the BSUAA). The planning committee will review and make revisions. Next year's tentative CMD date is Thursday, October 26, 2006.

FCS History Committee—Alice reported that selections of what to highlight on the timeline are being reviewed and that printing bids will be taken in the near future.

FCS Alumni Society Account #3905—Sue reported that the fund has a balance of $436 after spending  approximately $165 for lodging of three CMD presenters, and $66 for an award plaque and a keynote speaker plaque.  Members were reminded to consider allocating a portion of their annual gifts to this fund so that the Board can continue to pay for awards and programs as needed.

NEW BUSINESS
Due to professional commitments, Rae Ann O'Neill has submitted her resignation from the board, effective December 31, 2005. Appreciation for her services was expressed, and she will be missed. Nominations in the area of Family and Child, Education and Extension, or Fashion Merchandising were requested for the open position. Sue Taylor will follow-up with any nominees.

A planning committee was formed to coordinate a summer 2006 alumni event: Jeanine LeMaster, chairman; Angela Abbott, Suzie Huber, Bonnie Johnston and Sue Taylor.

BSU logo fabric project—Following lengthy discussion about concepts, designers, consumers, marketing, licensing, hurdles and many other aspects of a project of this nature, including student internship potential, members were requested to e-mail Sue with their contacts and ideas. She will connect with Alice, who will investigate and explore resources for the fabric process.

OTHER BUSINESS
Appreciation was expressed to Marla for providing gourds for table centerpieces at the CMD Luncheon.  Gratitude was also expressed to the board for their commitment and efforts toward the overall success of CMD.

The next board meeting will be Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the Alumni Center. Food will be provided at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting will be from 6:00- 8:00 p.m.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2:55 p.m.
