Nursing Meeting Minutes, December 6, 2004
Board Members Present: Diane Blankenship, Mary Buckley, Pam Cole, Shane House, Kathy Hutson, Ernie Krug, Connie McIntosh, Jan Noel, Brandy Renz, Linda Siktberg, and Ruth Ann Tolle.

President Connie McIntosh called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. and asked for any corrections or additions to the minutes of the October 26, 2004 Nursing Alumni Board meeting.  Shane House made a motion to approve the minutes as written.  Mary Buckley seconded the motion and the minutes were approved by voice vote.

Old Business

Nursing Historical Project—Connie reported that progress is pending.  Due to inadvertent circumstances, Pat McCallister will contact Connie as soon as possible in 2005 to work on the project.

Nursing Pinning Ceremony—Saturday, December 18, 2004, 7:30 p.m., Emens Auditorium.  Rehearsal will be Friday, December 17, 2004, 2:00-4:00 p.m., Emens Auditorium.

Flower Order—Shane House inquired about how much to spend when ordering the flowers for the graduating students, and Ernie Krug stated that $2.50 per student has been spent in the past.

Emens Stage—Jan Noel reported that because of a prior event in Emens on December 18, set-up for the Pinning Ceremony will need to be at 4:30 p.m. that day.  Set-up will be made by Emens staff and Class members.

Shane asked about Pinning qualification standards.  It was reported that the School of Nursing sets the precedent and approval of Pinning qualifications.

An updated list of nominations for the Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award was distributed.  The Award Selection Committee will schedule a meeting for selection of the 2005 Award recipient(s) and make their recommendations at the next board meeting.

New Business

Community Service Project—Connie reported that the videos are still in progress for January 2005 and that the last two will be taped soon.

Alumni Association Update

Ernie reported that an email was sent to nursing alumni seeking nominations for the Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award, as well as information regarding the Nursing Alumni Banquet and Class reunions.

The next Nursing Alumni Board meeting will be Tuesday, February 15, 2005, 5:30 p.m., Alumni Center Board Room.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
