Brenda Cox introduced new board member Russ Lawrence and guest Audra Behnke.
Chad Ellis reported that a successful watch party was hosted at the Fox and Hound. 40 alumni and friends attended the event. The board agreed to sponsor the outing again next year and Chad agreed to chair the event.
Tom Andrews chaired the Indianapolis Ice outing this year. Attendance was up this year from last year and the board determined that it was due to changing to a Saturday. The pre-game gathering was lengthened to ninety minutes this year. Tom suggested we try to avoid scheduling the event at the same time as the Indianapolis Home Show.
Steph Meyers planned another successful Casino Night a Jillian's, attended by more than 120 alumni and friends. The outing draws many recent graduates and was a sell-out for the second year in a row.
Bob Browning has confirmed arrangements with Pebble Brook Golf Club for our Wednesday, June 18 Golf and Dinner outing. Mark Hess, Kevin Ervin, and Dick Isenhour will help form a committee of eight to ten area alumni who will work to improve attendance.
Kevin Ervin will chair the Continuing Professional Education Seminar to be conducted on Wednesday, June 18. The seminar will be limited to 40 participants and the price will increase to $75.00.
John Waite has finalized arrangements for the Indianapolis Indians Picnic and Baseball outing to be hosted on Sunday, August 10. Russ Lawrence will help at the registration table.
Julie Bradshaw with a committee of Julie Griffith, Mark McClintock, Dick Isenhour, Kevin Ervin, Russ Lawrence, and Audra Behnke will make arrangements for a Saturday, July 26 Symphony on the Prairie outing at Connor Prairie. The entertainment will be “Pop Goes British”. Gates open and reception set up is at 5:30 p.m., our reception begins at 6:00 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Mark McClintock will provide beverages for our pre event reception.
Steph Meyers made a report on two possible sites, Indiana Downs in Shelbyville and Hoosier Park in Anderson, for our annual horse racing outing. The board agreed to return to Hoosier Park and asked Steph to make arrangements for a Sunday evening outing in late July, August, or early September.
Brenda Cox proposed an outing with the Indiana Firebirds be added to our winter outing schedule. The Firebirds, an arena football team, play at Conseco Fieldhouse. The board agreed to try to add the outing to the schedule with a possible date in February or March 2003.
Audra Behnke, who graduated in 1997, was elected as a new board member.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 6 at 6:00 p.m.
