Golf and Dinner
Eight-five area alumni and friends attended the outing held at Pebble Brook Golf Club. Outing Chair Bob Browning has organized a calling committee the past two years that has resulted in increased attendance. Bob Browning and Kevin Ervin will make arrangements for the 2003 outing.
Accountants’ CPE Seminar
Kevin Ervin report record attendance at the seminar. Jim Schmutte and Jim Duncan were seminar presenters. Kevin will make arrangements for 2003 with Lutz’s Restaurant.
Indians Picnic and Baseball
John Waite and Tom Nowak reported that attendance was smaller than previous years for the Saturday evening outing. The board agreed to move back to a Sunday evening outing if a date is available.
Symphony on the Prairie
Julie Bradshaw thanked Mark McClintock and Julie Griffith for their help with food and beverages. The Ball State Federal Credit Union donated a weekend Indianapolis hotel package as a door prize. Julie asked for some additional help to greet guests at the pre concert reception. Chad Ellis, Mark McClintock and Julie Griffith agreed to help next year.
Hoosier Park
The outing was moved to September to take advantage of the thoroughbred racing season. Attendance did not increase and may have been hurt by the Colts game. Steph Meyers will investigate the new Indy Downs track for our 2003 outing.
Indianapolis Ice
Tom Andrews has finalized plans for the Saturday, February 1, 2003 outing. We will return to Edy’s Grand Hall for our 5:30 p.m. pre-game outing and to the Pepsi Coliseum at 7:00 p.m. for hockey.
Casino Night
Steph Meyers has confirmed Jillian’s for Saturday, February 8, 2003. Doors will open and registration will begin at 5:00 p.m. with casino games from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The time change is to allow everyone a full two hours of casino games.
Watch Party
Outing chair Chad Ellis and his committee of Brenda Cox, Tom Andrews, and Kara Lippie will work on an outing at the Fox and the Hound for Saturday, January 25, 2003. The men’s basketball team will play at Miami at 3:00 p.m.
Indiana Pacers
The board decided not to host an outing with the Pacers.
Ball State vs Butler basketball
Board members will continue to look for a suitable location for a future pre-game outing.
Hamilton County Reception with President Brownell
Board members were encouraged to attend the reception on Wednesday, November 6, at the Oak Hill Mansion in Carmel. Reservations may be made by contacting the Alumni Association.
Board Positions
Jerre McManama ’91 and Russ Lawrence ’94 were elected as new board members. All board members with terms expiring in December accepted new two-year appointments.
Next meeting
After additional review, the next meeting has been moved from Trixies back to Cinergy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2002.

All information for the winter outing flyer is due to the Alumni office by Friday, November 22.
