On November 4th, 2006 with 4:25 left in the third period, Ball State pulled to within 12 points of the nation's No. 2 ranked team, and then with 8:45 left in the game Larry Bostic scored on a two-yard run and the Cardinals were down only 34-26 to the Michigan Wolverines. Ball State ended up loosing the game by just 8 points.
