Members Present  Dean Bilello, Diana Brenner, Michelle Harrell, Michael Hollibaugh, Dean Illingworth, Greg Jacoby, Tina Jones, Ernie Krug, Jamie Lake, Chris Lehnertz, Jennifer Milliken, Pat Quinn, Doug Reddington, Ron Taylor, and Kate Webber.

Vice President Jamie Lake called the meeting to order at 12:05 p.m.

Minutes
After a brief review of the July 22, 2004 minutes, Dean Illingworth made a motion to accept the corrected minutes, Tina Jones seconded the motion, and the minutes were approved by voice vote.

40 in 40 Project
Jamie Lake announced that the CAP department chairs have been notified that they will select faculty members for the selection committee.

Tina Jones made a motion for the alumni selection committee for the "40 in 40" project to be comprised of Kevin Downey, Jeff Mader and Rose Scovel.  Doug Reddington seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.  Tina Jones volunteered to mediate the selection committee.

Criteria for alumni submissions will be based on the "40 in 40 Building the Legacy" theme.  Staff and faculty recognition will be considered as the "Foundations of the Legacy" theme.  Tina Jones will draft guidelines for the committee to use.

CAP Anniversary Budget
Questions were raised by Dean Bilello as to funding sources for the events.  Pat Quinn reported that there was only approximately $1,000 in the Alumni Board Fund.  Dean Bilello will bring budget line items and estimated costs for the anniversary celebration to the next meeting.

Suggestions for raising funds included:

• Nominal entry fee with submissions
• Telethon donation calls
• Donation checks in the amount of $40 for the "40 in 40" celebration
• Board members give more each year and suggest co-workers whoare BSU grads to make donations

Diana Brenner made a motion to have the alumni, faculty and staff submitting jpegs make a $40 tax-deductible gift to the Ball State.  Tina Jones seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Other Business
Dean Bilello announced that SteveTalley, retired September 10, 2004.

The t-shirt design contest will be announced at Alumni Day 2004.  Jamie Lake volunteered to coordinate the contest.

The next meeting will be Saturday, September18 at 9 a.m. at the CAP building.
