Minutes
After a brief review of the November 18, 2004 minutes, Ron Taylor made a motion to accept the minutes, Tina Jones seconded the motion, and the minutes were approved by voice vote.
Lecture Series
Joe Bilello distributed a copy of a poster for the spring lecture series. Bilello would like an alumnus to introduce each lecturer.
Advertisements
Bilello announced that the banner was being secured to the CAP building wall. Bilello distributed bookmarkers that were examples of the banner that will hang outside the CAP building.
Exhibitions
Pat Quinn reported she has received 120 jpegs to be used for exhibitions. She distributed a list of alumni who have submitted jpegs. Quinn has taken inventory of items in archives such as t-shirts, trophies from bike-a-thons, and pictures. These items can be displayed throughout the CAP building for Alumni Day in September.
Ron Taylor announced that January 29, 2005 is the due date for the previous award winners to submit their information so that their submission can be mounted as a permanent exhibit.
Tina Jones and Quinn reported on the quotes they received for framing of the previous award winners displays. Jones and Quinn will work together on coordinating completion of the framing.
Lake thanked Jones and Taylor for their efforts on the exhibits. He suggested sending an additional e-mail letting people know that they can still submit jpegs past the original due date so as to hopefully attract more submissions for use later in the year.
Dan Woodfin asked Lake for the format his office used to submit their jpeg and he would pass it on to others.
New Board Member
Lake welcomed Karen Courtney to the CAP Board of Directors, who replaced Doug Reddington.
Monographs
Lake noted that Diana Brenner needs assistance with the monographs. The Monograph work seems overwhelming and a single person is not able to accomplish the entire task.
Scott Truex and his students appear to be handling this effort on behalf of the College, and Diana will now act as the liaison for the Governing Board.
Bilello reported that documentation of the year-long anniversary began in January with ReCap and an article in the Alumnus magazine. Discussion followed on ways to better reach alumni about the anniversary.
Discussion followed on when the yearbook would be available. No decision was reached. Chris Helms is continuing Steve Talley's work on the yearbook.
Bilello stated that he would like to see some "faculty reflections" on the history of CAP to add to the Monograph. It was noted by all as important since many staff members have been with the college for many years, some since the beginning. Bilello will contact them for this effort.
Mentoring Program
Jones will speak about the mentoring program at the meeting in February, as time was running tight and the program demands more time for proper discussion.
Logo Contest
Lake reported that the posters for the logo contest are posted in the CAP building. Lake will speak with Michel Mounayar to see how the contest is proceeding.
Special Events
The CAP 40th anniversary party will be March 23 at the CAP Building. Activities for the day include Charlie Sappenfield speaking, unveiling of the exhibit of alumni digital boards and a luncheon followed by birthday cake.
Discussion followed on sending e-mail "birthday cards" to alumni which would also serve as a reminder of upcoming activities for the year-long celebration.
Lake will draft letters to each of the former Deans, as well as the new University President to request their presence at the March 23 activity on behalf of the Board.
Other Business
Quinn reminded everyone that nominations for outstanding awards are still needed. The name of the alumni being nominated and a supporting paragraph can be sent by e-mail, letter or a phone call followed up by a letter. Lake will call three or four professors and give the names to Quinn. It was suggested that all members of the Board contact a professor to request nominations by each.
Woodfin distributed a format for a forum following the architecture job fair.

The next meeting will be February 24 at the Indy CAP Center at noon. The following meeting will be March 23 the CAP building on campus at 11:00 a.m.
