Alumni Association to host football pre-game rallies
The Ball State Alumni Association invites all Ball State football fans, alumni, friends, and the Muncie community to join President Blaine Brownell, Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham, the Ball State cheerleaders, and other BSU football fans at pre-game rallies to support the Ball State Cardinal football team. Reservations for all pre-game rallies are required.The rallies will begin two-and-a-half hours prior to kickoff for each game at the Alumni Center and include a buffet luncheon.
The first rally occurred August 28, when the Cardinals played Indiana State under the lights for the first time in University Stadium. Upcoming rallies are billed for Saturday, September 6 versus Missouri; Saturday, September 20 versus Central Michigan; Saturday, October 25 versus Toledo; and Saturday, November 22 versus Bowling Green. A Homecoming pre-game rally is scheduled for Saturday, October 18. For reservation information, see page 36.

Professional societies highlight events
Many alumni events have been planned for professional societies this fall.
COB: The College of Business Alumni board will meet Wednesday, September 24 in the Alumni Center. Plans for the October 27-31 Dialogue Week are underway.
Alumni who would like to share their professional experience with students should contact the Alumni Association for details.
COFA: The College of Fine Arts Alumni board will host the third annual Indy Art Walk along Massachusetts Avenue in Indianapolis, Thursday, September 4. All alumni are invited. Reservations are required.
The COFA Alumni board will meet Tuesday, September 16, in the Alumni Center.
FCS: Family and Consumer Sciences alumni will host their sixth annual Career Mentoring Day Thursday, November 20, at the Alumni Center. The board meeting will follow.
NREM: Natural Resources and Environmental Management alumni are co-sponsoring the annual fall Career Day in the NREM department, Wednesday, November 12.

Black Alumni: The Black Alumni Society board will meet Saturday, September 27 in the Alumni Center to review its recent reunion and begin plans for 2004 officers and events.
Men's Swimming and Diving: Former head coach Charles Guemple, '49MA60, will meet with men's swim team alumni from 1967-72 at a Homecoming reunion, Saturday, October 18.
Men's Tennis: Lettermen alumni will convene for their annual reunion Saturday, October 11 at the Alumni Center. Informal tennis matches will begin at 1:00 p.m., and a reception and dinner will follow at 7:00 p.m. Reservation information will be mailed.
University Singers: Alumni are invited to a 40th anniversary reunion and the 2004 Spectacular, Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, 2004. The planning committee asks that all Singer alumni make certain that their contact information is current in order to receive reservation information.
Singers from each era comprise the Alumni Association planning committee. Jan Richard, '67, is event chairman. The committee will meet Monday, September 22 and Monday, October 27 in the Alumni Center.
There will be an alumni reception at Bundy Auditorium, November 22. University Singers will perform at 7:30 p.m., with a reception to follow.
Women's Softball: Team alumni are invited to a two-day reunion, Friday and Saturday, October 17-18, on campus. An alumni game will be played at 4:00 p.m. Friday, and Saturday will include a tailgate party hosted by coaches Terri Laux and Karin Wick, a football game, and post-game party.
Women's Swimming and Diving: Alumni from the past 25 years will meet Saturday, October 11, at the Alumni Center to honor Coach Laura Seibold-Caudill.
Band, feature twirler alumni invited to return for Homecoming performance
Ball State band alumni and former feature twirlers are invited to return to campus for a pre-game performance Homecoming day, Saturday, October 18.
Participants will gather for a rehearsal in the band room, MU-117 at 9:00 a.m., then proceed to McKinley to watch the Homecoming parade.
Music for the Fight Song, Alma Mater, and one additional selection to be performed with "The Pride of America" marching band will be provided to participants.
Sousaphones and limited percussion instruments will be available, but alumni are asked to bring their own instruments. Contact the band office, (765) 285-5434, for reservations or information.
