Ball State's annual Alumni College will be Saturday, June 14, on campus. Some sessions are: "Discovering Digital Photography," "Basketball: Hoosier Hysteria Style," and "Wine Tasting 101."
Lunch, a Museum of Art tour, and a hard-hat tour of the Music Instruction Building also will be available. Dinner and the annual Symphony on the Green concert will complete the day.
Reunions bring alumni to campus
Alumni of Ball State's Class of 1953 will meet for their Golden Anniversary reunion, Thursday and Friday, June 19-20, at the Alumni Center. Those who attend will hear four Ball State faculty presentations throughout the two-day event, which will conclude with induction into the Ball State Half-Century Club.

Clubs offer events to alumni
Many events have been planned for alumni clubs in the coming months.
Adams-Wells: Don Kitson, '91, has been appointed as a new board member of the Adams-Wells Alumni Club. The group hosted an Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up April 12, chaired by Holly Mahnensmith, '92MA96.
Greater Indianapolis: Audra Behnke, '97, is a new board member for the Greater-Indianapolis Alumni Club. The group plans to host several events this summer and fall.
There will be a continuing professional education seminar Wednesday, June 18, at Lutz's Restaurant in Noblesville. Kevin Ervin, '82, is chairman of the event.
Sunday, August 10, will be the annual Indianapolis Indians Picnic and Baseball Outing at Victory Field. Chairman for the event is John Waite, '87.
A Symphony on the Prairie Outing is on the bill at Conner Prairie for Saturday, July 26. The concert, "Pop Goes British," is being planned by Julie Bradshaw, '80; Julie Griffith, '79; Mark McClintock, '95; Dick Isenhour, '75MA82; Kevin Ervin, '82; Russ Lawrence, '94; and Audra Behnke, '97.
Also, Sunday, September 7, area alumni are invited to enjoy harness racing at Hoosier Park in Anderson. Chairman for the event is Steph Meyers, '91MA92.
Michiana: Casino Night is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at the Elkhart Elks Club. Dick DeCraene, '64, is chairman.
A bus shopping trip to Woodfield Mall is scheduled for Saturday, November 15. The event is chaired by Jenn Crist, '90.
Northeastern Indiana: Eighty-four individuals attended a TGIF gathering, chaired by Mike McKay, '87, February 21, at Columbia Street West in Fort Wayne.
There were 68 people who attended a Science Central outing at Science Central in Fort Wayne, March 2. The event was chaired by Karen Francisco, '82, and included committee members Andrea Deer, '95; Barb Minger, '92MS95; and Jo Ann Johnston, '85MA88.
The group will host a picnic and baseball outing with the Fort Wayne Wizards at Memorial Stadium in Fort Wayne, Thursday, July 3. Mike McMillen, '67, is chairman for the event.
The annual Three Rivers Festival Parade will be Saturday, July 12. John Martin, '90, is chairman for Ball State's unit, which will include Charlie Cardinal and the Cheerleaders.
Professional Groups schedule events
FCS: The Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni board will meet at Red Gold in Alexandria, Thursday, June 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
FCS hosted its annual Spring Awards Dinner April 3. During the program, five outstanding alumni were honored. Awards of Merit were presented to Angela Abbott, '97MA98, nutrition communication coordinator for the Dairy and Nutrition Council and family nursing trainer in Indianapolis; and Heather Frank, '99, a middle school FCS teacher with Northwest Allen County Schools in Fort Wayne.
Angela Ahrendts, '93, executive vice president of Liz Claiborne in New York, and Christina Valentine, '86, clinical assistant professor in Pediatrics at The Ohio State University, were given Awards of Achievement. Ann Talley, '63MA79, director of Ball State's Dining Services and University Banquet and Catering, was presented with the Award of Distinction.
Journalism: Ball State's Journalism Alumni Association board met following the annual awards luncheon, April 2, on campus.
New board members attending their first meeting were Layne Cameron, '89, media relations manager at Ball State; and Heather Yost, '99, assistant director of communications for the NCAA.
The journalism media reunion will be Saturday, June 21, on campus. All former members of any journalism media staffs may attend the informal event. Details will be mailed. For further information, contact the Alumni Association.
The board is also planning an outing for Saturday, August 9 in Chicago, IL.
NREM: The NREM Alumni Society honored Sam Carman, MA78, with the NREM Alumni Award of Achievement at its annual Alumni Awards Dinner, April 11. Carman is the education director for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, Indianapolis.
The NREM Alumni board will meet Tuesday, May 20, at Cool Creek Nature Center at 5:30 p.m.
Nursing: The annual nursing alumni banquet occurred during the 1953 50-year nursing class reunion April 26. It included a tour of Ball Memorial Hospital and the School of Nursing. Two Outstanding Nursing Alumni award recipients were honored at the banquet.
Beth Kelsey, '82MA86MS96, is a nurse practitioner at Open Door Clinic in Muncie. She also is an assistant professor/coordinator in the Ball State School of Nursing. Among her honors, Kelsey has received grants and awards including a 2002-03 Diversity Associates Program grant from the School of Nursing.
A. Marie Osborn, '53, is a family nurse practitioner and deputy coroner from Cluster County Idaho, where she has served for 25 years. In addition to other honors, Osborn received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Idaho Primary Care Association.
Teachers College: An outing in conjunction with the Greater Indianapolis Alumni Club is planned for Saturday, July 26. The Symphony on the Prairie performance, "Pop Goes British," will be at Conner Prairie.
Constituent societies host diverse activities
Black Alumni: The Black Alumni Constituent Society will honor three alumni at its biennial reunion, Friday through Sunday, August 1-3, on campus. Milbert O. Brown, '78, Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist with the Chicago Tribune; Mary L. Dollison, '64MAE74, director and co-founder of Motivate our Minds, a tutoring and enrichment after-school program in Muncie; and Eugene G. White, EdS81EdD82, superintendent of Washington Township Schools in Indianapolis, will receive the awards at the Saturday evening dinner program.

CFA: Cardinal Football Alliance (CFA) and the Alumni Association hosted football lettermen April 18-19, during a Cardinal spring football practice. Alumni joined the coaching staff as they addressed the Cardinals in the locker room, and had the opportunity to review game videos.

Meet Coach Hoke: Southwestern Ohio-area alumni are welcome to attend an evening with Ball State head football coach Brady Hoke, '82, Wednesday, May 7 at Champp's Restaurant in Centerville, OH.
Ball Building Tour: The Alumni Association and Department of Telecommunications sponsored an event for alumni who work in the Ball Communication Building, April 1. Department chairman Nancy Carlson, MA84, and members of the telecommunications faculty provided a sneak preview of building renovations to the 39 people who attended.
Southern Indiana Alumni: Southern Indiana and Louisville-area alumni are invited to an outing Friday, May 16, at Buckhead Mountain Grill, from 5:00-7:30 p.m.
