Cardinal Cursor
Benny Cursor
Show your Cardinal Pride! Download a BSU Logo cursor for your personal computer.
Choose from either the Cardinal or Beneficence logos to replace the standard Windows hourglass cursor that is displayed by your computer when you are waiting for a program or file to open. The cursors will work on personal computers operating Windows 95 or 98.
- To download the cursors, begin by right-clicking (pressing your right-hand mouse button) on one (or both, separately) of these links: Cardinal Cursor, or Benny Cursor.
- Choose "Save link as" (MS Internet Explorer users, choose: "Save target as") and save the file to your computer in the folder: C:\Windows\Cursors.
- Once you have the file saved in the cursors folder, go to your Windows Start menu and choose Settings.
- From Settings go to Control Panel.
- Once you are in the Control Panel window, double-click on the Mouse icon.
- The Mouse Properties window should now be displayed. From there, click on the Pointers tab.
- In the window displaying types of cursors, click on the row marked Busy, represented by an hourglass icon. The hourglass icon will be replaced with either the Cardinal or Benny logo. Also, if you have a very fast computer and ethernet connection, and want the logo to show up more often, you may want to change the Working in Background row (the hourglass with arrow). It would be best not to replace an arrow pointer; the logo will not act as a "pointer" very well.
- With the Busy row selected, click on the button marked Browse. This will display the cursors available for use.
- Once the C:\Windows\Cursors folder is displayed, click on the file that you just downloaded, Cardinal.cur or Benny.cur.
- With either the Cardinal.cur or Benny.cur file selected, click on Open.
- At this time, replace the Working in Background row in the same way, if you prefer.
- The Mouse Properties window should again be displayed. From there, click on the Apply button, and then click OK.
The Cardinal or Benny logo should now be displayed as you wait for your computer to open programs.
