Amanda Foster earned her bachelor's degree from Ball State University in 2004 with a double major in Telecommunications and Political Science.

After graduation, Amanda attended graduate school at The George Washington University for Political Management.  During graduate school, she held an internship in the fundraising offices for both Congressman Patrick Kennedy and Senator Edward Kennedy.  Amanda moved to Rhode Island in June 2006 and worked on the Rhode Island Democratic Coordinated Campaign focusing on the successful election of Sheldon Whitehouse to the US Senate.  Amanda currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia, and is the Manager of PAC Administration at the American Health Care Association.

While a student at Ball State, Amanda was a member of the Ball State Speech Team for 4 years, the Ball State Civil Liberties Union, and Alpha Lambda Delta.  She was also Mud Volleyball Co-chair in 2001 and a member of the Ball State color guard her freshman year.

When asked about her feelings toward her time at Ball State, Amanda says, "During my years at Ball State, I came to know myself more fully.  I was not at all interested in politics prior to college.  However, upon joining the speech team, I gained an appreciation of politics that, when I added a political science major, became a great love of politics.  Now, politics is my life, and I love following the news, reading the DC political papers, and keeping up with current events."  She adds, "Due to the organizations I was in, I made many of my life-long friends at Ball State."
