The Alumni Association has announced six spring sports high school Coach of the Year awards. The award is presented to Indiana high school head coaches in all IHSAA-recognized sports. Recipients are recommended and selected by colleagues throughout the state and Ball State athletics representatives. This year's recipients are:
Rob Kratoska, '90, Roncalli High School, Boy's Track
- Marion County All-Catholic Invitational Champions
- Season win-loss record of 14-4
- During coaching tenure: 26 school records broken, 13 sectional championships, 6 regional championships, 3 visits to the state finals, and state qualifiers in 22 events
Steve Kearney, '70, Chesterton High School, Girl's Track
- 10-3 win-loss record in dual meets
- Wins at the West Lafayette and Gary Invitationals
- 2nd place finish in the Duneland Athletic Conference and Sectional
- 3rd place finish at Regional
- Trojans broke five school records during the season
Tim Cleland, '87, Delta High School, Girl's Tennis
- Season record of 17-4
- Career girl's tennis record of 226-30
- Sectional and regional champions
