Ball State University nursing alumni board sponsoring display at Muncie Children's Museum (3/31/2004)
The Ball State University Nursing Alumni Board will host the grand opening of their interactive display featuring healthy living habits for children coupled with a positive presentation of nursing at the Muncie Children's Museum from 11 AM to 1 PM on April 17, 2004.  Children who learn habits, which promote a healthy life, are likely to lead happier, healthier, longer and more productive lives.  Viewing nurses in a positive way will decrease fear of interactions with these professionals and create a positive image of nursing in the community.

A video in the display will feature animation including the main character Teddy, an adorable bear, combined with narrative from Nurse Molly encouraging children to adopt good health habits.  Interaction with Teddy and various pieces of healthcare related equipment will be available and encouraged by the video.   Teddy's Tips will be available for parents to take home for further reinforcement of materials presented.  The first 300 children will be receiving a coloring book and crayons for their very own.  All children can enter to win a door prize.

All members of the BSU Nursing Alumni Board enthusiastically support this project. Our goal is to improve the health of children in our community while promoting nursing as a friendly and helping profession. Following the grand opening, the display will be available for viewing and enjoyment during regular Children's Museum hours.  The interactive display area will be on a rotating basis throughout the next year with each display promoting a specific aspect of healthy living.
