Brenda Cox earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism from Ball State University in 1984.  Upon graduation she was employed as a Co-op Advertising Manager at Blair Broadcasting and then moved on to become Production Director at Crane Productions Print Advertising.  After leaving Crane Productions she was employed by Macmillan Publishing as a Sales Supervisor and Technical Support Manager.  For the past 10 years, Brenda has been Manager of Product Technical Support with John Wiley & Sons Publishing whose famous brands include Webster's New World Dictionaries, Cliffs Notes, and Betty Crocker Cookbooks, among others. 

While a student at Ball State, Brenda participated in PRAXIS, the Black Student Union, and was a Phi Beta Sigma Little Sis. 

Brenda is a member of the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter and has served as its president.  "Getting involved in the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter was one of the best decisions I have made.  I get to interact with dynamic alumni on a regular basis.  I encourage all fellow alumni to join us at an outing and enjoy the camaraderie and fun."

When asked about her feelings toward Ball State, Brenda says "Ball State has always provided a quality education.  As a hiring manager, I always know the caliber of training I'm receiving with a Ball State graduate."  She adds "My BSU experience has provided me with lifelong friends across the country.  I enjoy seeing how the campus continues to blossom."
