Professional societies have numerous events scheduled for the coming months.

FCS: The Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Society board of directors will meet Wednesday, February 22, at 6:00 p.m. at the Alumni Center. Refreshments  will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Journalism: The Journalism Alumni Society board of directors will meet at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, January 14, at the Alumni Center.

The board will approve recommendations for 2006 alumni award recipients. The Outstanding Young  Alumnus, Outstanding Journalism Alumnus, and Hall of Fame nominee will be  honored during the awards luncheon, Tuesday, April 4, on campus.

MCOB: The Miller College of Business Alumni Society board of directors will meet Wednesday, February 22, at 3:30 p.m. at the Whitinger Building.

Following the meeting the Alumni Society and MCOB will co-host a dinner for young business alumni and senior students. The evening will conclude with a men's basketball game at 7:00 p.m. against Western Michigan.

NREM: The Natural Resources and Environmental Management Alumni Society board of directors will host its fifth annual Internship Day for students, Tuesday, January 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Alumni Center.

Alumni who work in NREM or related careers are invited to participate and provide internship or employment opportunities. For details contact the Alumni Association  by January 13.

The board of directors will meet Tuesday, January 24, at 4:30 p.m.

Nursing: The nursing class of 1956 will celebrate its 50-year reunion during the Saturday, April 29 nursing alumni banquet. Chairmen for the banquet are Jo Brown, '56; Doris Laymon, '56; Barbara Murray, '56; and Sue Tickfer, '56.

Banquet details and a reservation form will be included in the spring issue of the  nursing alumni newsletter.

The School of Nursing and Nursing Alumni Association co-sponsored the annual winter pinning ceremony, December 17, 2005 on campus.

Alumni chapters sponsor winter outings, plan events

Alumni chapters throughout Indiana will conduct a host of events and meetings in the  upcoming weeks.

Greater Indianapolis: The Greater Indianapolis Area Alumni Chapter will sponsor three winter outings.

The first will be Sunday, January 29, at the Pepsi Coliseum to  watch the Indiana Ice vs. the Green Bay Gamblers. A reception will be hosted at 4:00 p.m. Game time is 5:00 p.m.

The annual Casino Night will be Saturday, February 4, at Jillian's in Indianapolis.  The event will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, February 12, the chapter will sponsor an outing at the Murat Theatre to see the production of "Stomp." A reception will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Rathskeller. The  show begins at 3:00 p.m.

The board of directors will meet at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2, in Indianapolis.

Michiana: The Michiana Alumni Chapter board of directors will meet at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 23, in Elkhart.

Northeastern Indiana: The Northeastern Indiana Alumni Chapter board of directors will meet at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, in Fort Wayne.

The chapter will sponsor two winter outings. Friday, February 17 will be the annual TGIF at Columbia Street West in Fort Wayne. The Science Central family outing is scheduled for Sunday, February 26.
