FCS: The Family and Consumer Sciences alumni society will host its eighth annual Career Mentoring Day on Friday, October 28, at the Alumni Center. The board of directors will host the event for more than 300 students, alumni, and staff, and will meet following the event.
JOURNALISM: The Journalism Alumni Society board of directors will participate in department activities during Homecoming weekend, Friday and Saturday, October 14-15. Actvities include student interaction and networking with alumni professionals. Nominations are sought for the journalism awards program. Names may be submitted for the Journalism Hall of Fame, Outstanding Journalism Alumnus award, and Outstanding Young Journalism Alumnus award. Due date for nominations is Monday, November 21. The next board meeting is set for October 14.
MCOB: The Miller College of Business Alumni board of directors will host Dialogue Days for alumni and students, Tuesday, October 11 through Wednesday, October 12 at the Whitinger Building on campus. Alumni who wish to share their professional experiences with students may contact the Alumni Association.
NREM: Natural Resources and Environmental Management alumni will lead their second excursion to clean an area of the White River, Saturday, September 10. Alumni and friends will meet at Strawtown Koteewi Park at 8:00 a.m and be transported to the launch site at Perkinsville.
Participants will float to the one-mile segment of the White River to remove debris. Any alumni, their families, and friends may join the group.
Alumni band invited to play at Homecoming
Ball State's Alumni Marching Band will perform during the pre-game at Homecoming, Saturday, October 15. Alumni interested in performing with the band should bring their instruments and meet in the band room of the new Music Instruction Building at 9:00 a.m. for a brief rehearsal.
Music will be provided to alumni members prior to the rehearsal by contacting Joseph Scagnoli, '64MA67.
Alumni who participated in concert band or marching band under the direction of Scagnoli are invited to a reunion honoring him Saturday, November 19. The celebration will begin with the pre-game lunch at the Alumni Center, followed by the Ball State vs. Central Michigan football game. It will conclude with an alumni concert band performance in Ball State's new Sursa Hall in the evening. Details will be mailed.
