Cordelia (Wheaton) Hull-Robinson, '28, Mesa, AZ, celebrated her 100th birthday October 5.

1940s

Ruthanna (Keffaber) Christle, '46MAE76, Wabash, has retired after 25 years in education. She also served as Wabash city court judge.

1950s

Jack Peckinpaugh, '50, Muncie, has received the 63rd annual John Newton Russell Memorial Award. Jack is the president of Peckinpaugh & Beasley, Inc. He also is a Ball State Distinguished Alumnus, Benny Award recipient, and a member of the Miller College of Business Hall of Fame.

Lois J. Pogue, '57, Lebanon, has retired after 35 years of teaching in the Lebanon Community School Corporation.

Chester R. Kubit, '58MA61, Indianapolis, is a volunteer at Westlane Middle School. He is a physical plant manager at Cottonwood Gulch's summer camp in New Mexico.

Michael H. Prosser, '58MA60, Beijing, China, is an emeritus professor of rhetoric and communications studies at the University of Virginia. He is currently teaching in China. Prosser is a Ball State Distinguished Alumnus.

Linda S. (Gambee) Henry, '62, Payallup, WA, has coauthored the book The Soul of the Caring Nurse, Stories and Resources for Revitalizing Professional Passion. She is a marketing and communications consultant.

Ruth Ann (Whittig) Myers, '65MA67EdD87, Crowley, TX, has retired from teaching. She is employed with H&R Block and is an ad agent for Guardianship Services, Inc.

Karen F. Galinowski, '66, St. Petersburg, FL, has recently retired after 45 years with the YMCA.

Robert M. Coatie, '68MA72, Hialeah, FL, is senior director of multicultural programs and services at Florida International University in Miami. Robert is a Ball State Outstanding Black Alumni Award recipient.

L. Lynn Davis, MA68, Omaha, NE, recently retired after 30 years in the railroad industry.

Arthur D. Gies, MA68, Gainesville, FL, has retired from the State of Florida Department of Children and Families.

Gary L. Curtis, '69, Brentwood, TN, has retired after 26 years as a pilot for Delta Airlines.

Sherry L. (Shugert) Macy, '69, Cary, NC, is an administrative assistant for an architectural design company in Raleigh, NC.

Jeanne H. Sheridan, '68MA69, Fort Wayne, has been appointed assistant professor at the University of St. Francis.

Karen L. (Simon) Goldstein, '70, Noblesville, has been awarded the Golden Apple Teacher recognition. She is a resource teacher of special education for Carmel and Clay schools.

Sharon K. Blair, '71MA76, Portland, OR, has retired after 22 years with the Federal Government. She is the founder of Blairwear.

Linda J. (Rosenbrock) Hardin, '71MA71EdS75, Ketchikan, AK, has been awarded a lifetime membership at the Oxford Roundtable with Oxford University in England.

Charles P. McBride, MA71, Anchorage, AK, has been awarded the 2004 President's Medallion for lifetime achievement and service to Catholic communications.

Stephen W. Short, '72MAE77, New Palestine, has returned from active duty with the U.S. Army Reserve. He served as the joint operations detention group command sergeant major. Short, awarded numerous medals for his outstanding service, is the chief administrative officer of the American Legion of Indiana.

Steve Gookins, MAE73EdS80, Muncie, has been selected as Indiana District VI Superintendent of the Year. He is the superintendent for Delaware Community Schools corporation.

Steven L. Yager, '73, Fort Wayne, has been selected as North Central Indiana District II Superintendent of the Year. He is the superintendent for Northwest Allen County Schools. Steven is also a current member of the Ball State Teachers College Alumni board.

Michael E. Carrier, MA74, Salem, OR, is the natural resources policy director for the State of Oregon. He also is a recipient of the Ball State NREM Award of Distinction.

Paul D. Wilson, '74MA80, Carmel, is vice president of global human resource services for Guidant Corporation.

Rebecca M. (Moore) Thompson, '75MAE80, Albany, is principal at Muncie Southside High School.

Bruce E. Konkle, '76, Columbia, SC, was awarded the Laurence R. Campbell Research Award for 2003-04 by the  Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication's Scholastic Journalism Division. He is an associate professor at the University of South Carolina. Konkle also is a former Ball State Journalism Outstanding Alumnus.

Gregory L. Dyer, '77, O'Fallon, MO, has been elected president of the St. Charles County Association of Realtors.

Holly (Gooding) Miller, MA77, Anderson, has coauthored the textbook Feature and Magazine Writing: Action, Angles and Anecdotes. Holly is a former of the Ball State Distinguished Alumnus Award and is a member of the Journalism Hall of Fame.

Howard F. White, '77, Monee, IL, is lead negotiator for private commercial agreements with SBC-Industry Markets in Chicago, IL.

Paul B. Grayson, '78, Indianapolis, is the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Indianapolis Zoological Society. He also is a recipient of the Ball StateNREM Award of Distinction.

Ellen F. Rainier, '78, Carmel, received the Above and Beyond Award from Ivy Tech State College for excellence in instruction.
