TC Meeting Minutes, October 6, 2007
Members Present: Vince Bertrum, Alena Bogucki, Jeannine Browning, Maria Esterline, Mike Garringer, Michelle Harrell, Ernie Krug, David McIntosh, Doug Siebert, Roy Weaver and Kate Webber

Mike Garringer called the meeting to order at 8:43 a.m. After review of the June 26, 2007 minutes, Doug Siebert made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Vince Bertram. The minutes were approved by a voice vote.

Symphony on the Prairie Outing Report
Ernie Krug gave a brief report on the Symphony on the Prairie Outing. Approximately 15 Teachers College alumni attended. It was a great evening. Julie Bradshaw, of the Indianapolis chapter, invited the Teachers College to join the event again next year.

Children's Museum Outing Report
The date set for the Indianapolis Children's Museum outing will be March 29, 2008. The attendance was up from the year before. There was some discussion as to how to continue to increase attendance.

Review of Forms

Innovative Education Grant Application:  No changes made
Outstanding Alumni Award Application:  No changes made
Teachers College Scholarship Application:  No changes made but will discuss changing the due date at the June 2008 meeting.

Judy Briganti resigned from the board. Eugene White will continue with another term. Other positions with terms up for renewal are Steve Brace, Joe Olah and Mary Link. Roy Weaver will contact each person.

Dean's Report
Dean Weaver gave a brief report on the college. National book award-winning author Jonathan Kozol will speak at Emens on November 6 at 8 p.m. A project with Simon & Schuster will be launched, bringing children's authors to campus three times a year as a part of Electronic Author Visits. The authors will make presentations, visit with children, and have their presentations made available through distance learning to schools and teachers across the nation. The iTunes U project is nearly finalized and should be rolled out in the next few weeks. Members were reminded of the Electronic Field Trip series, with information available at www.bsu.edu/eft.

Teachers College Presentation
Tom Taylor, Vice President, Enrollment, Marketing and Communications made a presentation on enrollments and marketing.

Next Board Meeting
Dean Weaver and Eugene White will pick a date for the next meeting and will e-mail the board.

The meeting adjourned at 10:15 a.m., and lunch with scholarship recipients followed.
