Minutes
After a review of the June 9, 2004 minutes, Mike Garringer made a motion to accept, seconded by Jeannine Browning. The minutes were approved by voice vote.
University Development Presentation
Michael Eastman gave a brief presentation on making donations to the university. He distributed packets of material.
Symphony on the Prairie Outing Report
Ernie Krug gave a report on the Symphony on the Prairie outing. Thirty-nine Teachers College alumni attend the event.
Review of Forms
Teachers College Outstanding Alumni Awards Nomination Form Changes
- Opening paragraph now reads as follows: Awards are made to Ball State University Teachers College alumni who have made significant contributions to their profession. The number of annual Teachers College Alumni Awards is made at the discretion of the Board of the Teachers College Association. To be eligible, a person must hold either an undergraduate or graduate degree from Teachers College. Anyone may nominate a candidate for an Alumni Award by completing the following from.
- Due date changed from June 2, 2004 to June 2, 2005.
Teachers College Scholarship Application Form Changes
- Deadline date changed from April 2, 2004 to April 2, 2005.
- Ethnic information section removed.
- Scholarship applicant notification date changed from July 25, 2004 to July 25, 2005.
Innovative Education Grant Program
- The words "Awarded up to $500" were added to the end of the subject line of the Innovative Education Grant Program memo.
- The date line was removed from the memo and "Revised: October 2004" was added at the bottom of the memo.
- The words "Awarded up to $500" was added to the title on the description page.
- The "Note" paragraph was deleted.
- The application due date was changed from June 2, 2004 to June 2, 2005.
- The applicant notification date was changed from July 30, 2004 to July 30, 2005.
The PDF version of the updated forms will be put on the Teachers College Web site. A link to the forms will be placed on the Alumni Association's Web site.
Once the forms are online, an announcement for alumni to see the new forms will be in an issue of the Cardinal's Nest e-newsletter.
Dean Weaver suggested having an award for alumni with outstanding accomplishments within their first 10 years of graduation.

Dean's Report
Dean Weaver gave a brief report on the laptop initiative. Dean Weaver will invite President Gora to our next meeting. He distributed a "Quick Facts" sheet that was developed by the department of educational leadership as result of the president's request for information before their first meeting.
Next Board Meeting
The next board meeting is Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. at the Alumni Center. Lunch will follow the meeting.
