Transferring Out?

All questions about courses transferring to another college should be answered by the college you intend to transfer to. Begin the process by getting an application from the intended school, fill it out, and then have Ball State send a transcript of your records if it is required by the target school.  Transcripts are free and may be obtained in the Records Office, LUB43. Contacting the Housing Office at Ball State, and seeing about transfer of financial aid are other considerations if relevant to your situation.

Transferring IN? Consider using the TransferIN web site when exploring

If you are interested in transferring from another college to Ball State, you may wish to investigate how your credits will transfer. A key resource for students is provided by the  TransferIN website. It's a free service to anyone interested in learning how courses transfer between participating colleges and universities, or more about the degree programs they offer, or using its great resource for links to a variety of relevant information about the transfer process. Also, get an application from the Admissions Office at Ball State, or call 765-285-8300. Keep in mind that the application of transferred courses to programs an requirements in your new school can vary from those of the school you have been attending.

Another resource on the TransferIN web site is the The Course Transfer Libray (CTL) link. CTL can quickly show many courses which transfer between schools in Indiana. Students who want to take a course at another school and have it transfer back to their school as a specific equivalent course will find CTL a quick reference, but any questions about how your department uses or applies transfer credit is always a good idea.
