Often, students are asked to access information beyond the classroom through a web based tool called, "Blackboard." Using "Blackboard" as a virtual community, instructors can provide an opportunity for independent learning and a variety of learning resources. Advisors often open an "advising community" to have an additional way for students to stay informed and receive information specific to their majors.  Students are encouraged to visit their Advisor's Community and pay special attention to announcements posted there.
