Emmy awards
Ball State's five Emmys, including two for a student-produced
magazine program, were awarded Sept. 18 during ceremonies hosted by the Cleveland
chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Four of the five Emmys were won in professional categories.

be celebrated during a joint conference Oct. 6-9. The 20th anniversary
celebration of the International Society of Hildegard von Bingen Studies
will take place in conjunction with the 35th annual Interdisciplinary
CAES Conference.

'The Miracle Worker' to open 2004-05 theater season
Sept. 30
Ball State's Department of Theatre and Dance is anticipating a
spectacular year as it opens the 2004-05 season with a classic story of
triumph over adversity. "The Miracle Worker" will be presented at
7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 and Oct. 6-9 and at
2:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in University Theatre.

Lawhead used to worry if, come Monday, he would be hanging from a tree.
The "hanging tree" was located between the Administration Building and
the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. Each Monday through the turbulent
1960s, it would hold the effigy of an official unfortunate enough to
have incurred student wrath.
