Students listen to faculty member
reporting on life in Afghanistan
Afghanistan may be on the other side of the planet, but it's only a phone call away for a Ball State faculty member. Roy Doyon, a Ball State cartography instructor, recently was a guest speaker in global geography class thanks to the use of a satellite connection. Full Story

Fieldhouse exhibit at library recalls 75 years of memories
Aaron Stone can almost hear the echoes rolling through the Muncie Fieldhouse: echoes of events and speakers long departed. Stone prepared the exhibit “A Place for Memories: 75 Years of the Muncie Fieldhouse” on the second floor of Bracken Library. Full Story

Miller College of Business celebrates new name Nov. 13
The celebration of the naming of the Miller College of Business will be Nov. 13. The event will formally recognize a gift from the estate of the late Wallace T. Miller, Jr. The university has received nearly $17.2 million to name the Miller College
of Business and to establish the Phyllis A. Miller Professorship in Health Economics. Full Story

Students unveil high-tech exhibit at Children's Museum
Visitors to the Muncie Children’s Museum have a new high-tech musical exhibit thanks to a group of innovative Ball State students. The exhibit is a collection of kiosks, which are shaped like oversized musical instruments. Full Story

University creating IT business incubator to assist students
Ball State is developing a business incubator program to assist students in creating their own businesses. Funded by a $60,000 grant from the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, the project will focus on fostering an entrepreneurial movement within the university’s growing communications and information technology sectors. Senators and audience members alike will have fun at "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," which will be performed at 8 p.m. Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 12-15 and at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 at University Theatre. Full Story

Ball State music professors traveled to New York for a shopping trip of a lifetime. Pianists Robert Palmer and Ray Kilburn flew to Steinway and Sons’ factory Nov. 4 to purchase seven grand pianos: Two Steinway D concert grands and five Steinway B grands. Full Story

Watch three plays for the price of one in "An Evening of Tennessee," on stage at 8 p.m. Nov. 18-22 and Nov. 24 and at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 in the Edward S. Strother Theatre. Full Story

International booths, displays featured during festival
Booths and displays will fill Cardinal Hall in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center during Ball State's International Festival Nov. 9-10.
