of an award-winning Internet-based videoconferencing system.
Kumcu will oversee the new Global
Media Network, an interactive distance education system that allows

Reorganization to expand international program
efforts
Ball State’s emphasis on
international education has come a long way since a lone student arrived
from Canada in the 1940s. Every year
the university helps more than 450 students and faculty travel to
college campuses around the globe while helping nearly the same number
of international students and professors visit the Muncie campus.

"Blue Window" explores connections, or

Automated online system to provide local weather updates
Residents in East
Central Indiana may find the latest weather information online as a
result of a new system at Ball State.
Ball
State’s
weather station has been upgraded, adding an automated weather
monitoring system that updates every five minutes. Observations include
temperature, heat index, wind chill, humidity, wind, barometric pressure
and precipitation. Daily extreme values are also recorded.

of American firms prefer to receive resumes from job candidates
electronically because it makes hiring more efficient, says Joseph
