Morrison to oversee human resources in new position
Thomas
A. Morrison has been named associate vice president for human resources
and state relations. Morrison is currently director of state fiscal
relations. He will continue in that role and also assume responsibility
for the human resource and employee relations offices.

of faculty, staff upgraded
Profile, the online directory of faculty and staff photos, has been
upgraded and integrated with Ball State’s Web site search engine. Anyone
who uses the university’s search function to look up individuals or
department
rosters can now access photos, as well as contact information, for
faculty and staff.

Study finds computers fully integrated into students' lives
Computers
are becoming a regular part of college life, changing the way students
learn and interact with others, says a study from Ball State. A survey
of 253 freshmen and sophomores living in Ball State residence halls
found 94 percent had access to a computer in their living quarters and
75 percent reported using computer technology more than five hours a
week, said Sherry Woosley, a senior analyst for the Office of Academic
Assessment and Institutional Research.

Ball State to offer in-state
tuition to some Ohio residents
The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees authorized the
university's participation in the plan, which allows students from
certain counties in Indiana and Ohio to pay in-state tuition rates when
they cross the border to attend a college or university.
