World War II pilot is speaker
for Conference on Aging Well
World War II
pilot and Fort Wayne resident Margaret Ringenberg was the keynote
speaker Thursday at the Indiana Conference on Aging Well at Ball State May 20. A
former WASP (Women Air Force Service Pilots), she is author of "Girls
Can't be Pilots" and was featured in "The Greatest Generation" by Tom
Brokaw. From her first solo flight in 1941 until she completed the
"Round-the-World" air race at age 72, she logged more than 40,000 hours.
