connecting--crossroads of digital discourse october 23 24 25 26 2003 ball state university indianapolis indiana

Over the past twenty years, the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) has set the agenda for digital issues in Architecture. ACADIA22 Conference 2003 expands digital topics for presentation, and connects with allied organizations in an outreach effort to form answers to critical questions about the present state of the digital discourse. ACADIA has the collective expertise to help provide the leadership in shaping the next twenty years of digital discourse in Architectural Education, Research, Theory and Practice.

ACADIA 2003 focuses on critical questions-connecting, both with new topic areas and with other digitally minded organizations. A database driven paper/project blind peer review system will be employed. A Topic Chair will govern the review and selection within their Topic Nodes of content for papers and projects to be presented at the conference. The categories within each of the following Topic Nodes are outlined below. The topic nodes include: Digital Pedagogy, Digital Tools, Digital Projects, Digital Design, Digital Theory, Digital Practices, and Digital Communities

Where has your digital focus been lately? Have you ever wondered who is helping to shape the digital discourse? If you agree that new digital media requires new techniques for learning, then how best will digital tools transform how we see and what we make? Can digital technology influence design processes? In fact, what new digital tools have been emerging and, how have these digital tools transformed what and how we practice? What new ideas emerge resulting from influences of digital technology?
