Coyote and Batman, examine the genetic makeup of the X-Men, learn how chemistry is used to produce special effects in movies and create some of your own! | ||

| Are you interested in the medical field and want to get a head start? Even if you don’t want to be a doctor or nurse this is the camp for you! Check out medicine’s many exciting careers with intensive studies on the heart, brain, skeletal, and nervous systems. Find out what we can learn from an EKG and blood pressure; study hematology and toxicology. Explore the importance of biomolecules such as proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. This class includes dissections and a trip to a local veterinary hospital to watch live surgeries. | ||

| Do you want to learn programming but can’t work it into your high school schedule? This course is designed for students with little or no previous programming experience. In just two weeks, we will cover one semester of an equivalent Introduction to Programming high school course. Learn to program using a top-down design, structured, and object-oriented approach. Topics will include using basic variables, loops, if/else statements, strings, arrays, functions, basic input/output to files, using objects, and creating classes. This course may be used as a prerequisite to an AP Computer Science course. A course grade will be determined based on programming assignments and tests. | ||

| The West in the World is a study of the development of Western Civilization, its key problems, turning points and recurring themes in the past two centuries. Analyze the emergence of Western Civilization throughout Europe and follow its spread to the Americas. Ball State University offers 3 college credit hours to students in History 150 upon completion of this course. Students enrolling in the course for dual credit will also be responsible for a one-time Ball State University application fee of $25. | |
NEW! Educational Mentor Program
The Indiana Academy will offer one-on-one tutoring sessions in math and science for the first time this summer. Each session will be tailored to meet your educational needs. Whether you need a little extra help in a subject or just want to work ahead, the Indiana Academy Educational Mentor Program can help. We will meet with you and your parent to discuss your educational needs and set up a schedule that works for you. Indiana Academy Educational Mentors are gifted and talented juniors and seniors from the Indiana Academy who excel in science and/or math. All tutoring sessions will be held in Burris classrooms.
Tutoring sessions are only $10 per hour and are for students in grades 5-9.

About the Indiana Academy
The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities, located on the campus of Ball State University (Google Maps), is Indiana's only public educational institution solely devoted to the education of gifted youth. To provide high ability students challenging and engaging experiences after the end of the school term, the Indiana Academy offers a wide variety of summer programs for students in grades 3 - 12. The focus of each session is to provide opportunities for the student to explore new topics and ideas, experience expert instruction, engage in hands-on actives and enjoy the challenge of learning.
Registration & Refund Policy
Camps are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is limited to keep classes small and hands-on. There will be a non-refundable $50 registration fee. This fee must be mailed to us the same day you register online in order to hold your spot in the camp and will count towards the cost of the camp. This fee is refundable only if there is a medical condition which prevents the camper from coming and is documented by a physician or the camp is full. No refunds will be given less than three weeks before the camp without a note from a physician.
Room and Board for Residential Programs
Students will be housed in a dormitory on the campus of Ball Sate University. Counselors will be assigned to each floor and will live with the students for the duration of each program. A nurse will be available in the mornings and evenings to dispense medications to participants with health problems or special needs. Please let us know if your child has special dietary requirements (like vegetarianism or lactose intolerance) prior to their program date so we may make accommodations for them.
