Who Is On The Development Team?
Dr. Tom Adams is a native of northern Indiana with college degrees from Manchester College, Florida State University and Purdue Univesity. He came to the Academy in 1990 and has been Science Division chair for many years.
Dr. Vickie Barton has been with the Academy for sixteen years and is one of the founding members of the Academy community. She now serves as a Co-Director and Director of Residential and Student Affairs.
Dr. Tracy L. Cross, George and Francis Ball Distinguished Professor of Gifted Studies, serves Teachers College at Ball State University as the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, Research and Assessment. For eight years he served as the Executive Director of the Indiana Academy.
Hillary Spike Fordice is a member of the Indiana Academy Class of 1996. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Michigan Law School. She is an attorney at a private firm in downtown Indianapolis.
Joshua Fryback graduated from the Academy in the Class of 2000. Majoring in finance from Indiana University he currently works as an accountant for Industrial Contractors in Evansville, Indiana.
Aaron Lake is Associate Director for Admissions. He has been in charge of Academy Admissions since 1994. Mr. Lake manages the admissions team that coordinates both on and off campus activities, the processing and evaluation of admissions applications, and other activities to help familiarize prospective students and parents with the Academy. Mr. Lake is the founder of the Association of Consortium Admissions Representatives (ACAR).
Zach Lee is a current senior at the Academy who comes from rural Jefferson County in southern Indiana. He is the first student to attend the Academy from Southwestern High School in Hanover. Possible career interests are in Japanese, political science, and business.
Dr. Drew Ramsey is a member of the inaugural 1992 class and grew up in rural Crawford County. He currently lives in New York City where he is a Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at Columbia University.
Joonhyung "Jay" Rhim is a junior at the Indiana Academy. Before attending the Academy, he attended Castle High School in Newburgh, IN. In his spare time he likes to relax with his friends, play basketball, and play his drums.
Dr. Franklin Shobe is Instructor of Mathematics and Chair of the Mathematics and Computer Science Division at the Indiana Academy. He has been at the Indiana Academy since 1995. He grew up in Great Bend, Kansas, and has been a college teacher, an environmental analyst, and an Air Force officer.
Barbara Spike has served as Administrative Coordinator at the Indiana Academy since 1994. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and parent of four gifted students, including a 1996 Academy graduate. Dr. and Mrs. Spike reside in Cambridge City, Indiana.
Ken Stuart is an instructor of Social Studies and chair of the Humanities Division at the Indiana Academy. Mr. Stuart has been a faculty member since the school opened in 1990.
Laura Vanderkam, from South Bend, is a member of the Academy class of 1997. She lives in New York City and works as a journalist.
Dr. David C. Williams is Co-director and Director of Academic Affairs at the Indiana Academy. He has been at the Academy since 1998 and directly supervises the academic and outreach programs.
