Office of Academic Assessment Surveys
This is a brief summary of university-wide surveys administered by the Office of Academic Assessment. The results from these surveys may provide departments with information that can be used in conjunction with the department's assessment activities.
MAP Survey
In an effort to gain a more comprehensive profile of our freshmen class, the Making Achievement Possible Survey was created. MAP is a computer-administered survey designed to reveal a student's strengths and talents as well as to identify areas for further development. The survey is targeted to incoming freshmen within the first four weeks of attending Ball State University.
Mid-College Survey
The College Student Experiences Questionnaire, developed by C. Robert Pace, is a survey designed to explore how students spend their time in course work, extracurricular activities, social relationships, campus activities, and so forth. The CSEQ is administered to a sample of students at the end of their sophomore year. A local survey is also being designed for use with college sophomores.
Senior Survey
The Senior Survey gives graduating seniors an opportunity to express their opinions about their experiences at Ball State both of the University in general and their major department. The survey also contains questions about students' career and educational plans. The Senior Survey is administered to all graduating seniors toward the end of the spring semester.
Alumni Survey
The Alumni Survey, administered to recent graduates, seeks to gain information on the employment status of Ball State graduates, as well as their plans for furthering their education. The survey also contains several questions about alumni perceptions of the quality of their experiences at Ball State.
